Are there any antioxidants in oolong tea?

antioxidant benefits
Tack asked:

I’m wondering if there are antioxidants in all tea or just green tea. Are there any harm if I drink tea after it’s cold? Should I drink tea after my morning jog? What are the benefits of drinking tea before I eat? What is the benefit for drinking tea after I eat? Does it matter what kind of tea I should drink? Is green tea better than oolong tea? I know this is a lot of questions here, but I really appreciate it if you would answer my long question. Thank you for your effort!!! :D

There are antioxidants in many teas, but green has a lot (as does white)

Are there any harm if I drink tea after it’s cold? No harm.
Should I drink tea after my morning jog? If you want.
What are the benefits of drinking tea before I eat? No specific benefit
What is the benefit for drinking tea after I eat? No specific benefit
Does it matter what kind of tea I should drink? No, oolong is better than black but not as good as green in terms of antioxidants
Is green tea better than oolong tea? Green tea is better.

In summary, tea is good, drink it whenever.

Yes, there are antioxidants in ALL tea. Some teas have more than others but icing the tea does not change the antioxidant content at all. As a matter of fact some green tea is actually served iced or hot in many japanese restaurants.

I brew green tea everyday….I like Dragonwell and Sencha personally.

Generally the less processed the tea is the more antioxidants it contains. Oolong tea has a dark colour because it is lightly roasted and which causes the levels of antioxidants to decrease. According to every health books i’ve read they all say that white tea has the highest level of antioxidants since it undergoes the least processing and also becaue it is the young buds of the tea plants.

So basically the best one to have is 1) White Tea then 2) Green Tea
    3) Dark teas like Oolong.

As for when you drink it it doesnt matter but it has been suggested that you drink arround 4-5 cups of tea in order to reap its benefits.

Hot or Cold? It doesnt really mater.

yes, there are antioxidants in oolong tea, as well as black, green, and white teas.

I think you should find teas you enjoy drinking, and the nutrition will come afterwards.
