yes! herbal tea - (green tea, white tea, oolong/red tea) all contains polyphenols which have a range of benefits. you can get green tea which has been oxidised, black tea, completely oxidised, oolong/red tea which is semi-oxidised or white tea, unoxidised. the difference is that oxidation causes stronger concentrations of caffiene which stimulate the metabolism and therefore you lose weight.

however, unoxidised or less oxidised tea, if you drink it before and after you eat, causes your insulin levels to rise which burns fat. also, drinking any sort of chinese/japanese herbal tea 15 minutes before eating increases energy expenditure 10%. if you drink tea immediately after eating, you burn an extra 10% of fats. also, note that green tea has only 4 calories per cup!

Also, it is believed that the polyphenols in tea seem to aid in the digestion of fat, truly making it a Chinese diet tea.

also, Japanese researchers claim if you drink five cups of green tea a day, you’ll burn 70 to 80 extra calories. Dr. Nicholas Perricone, an anti-aging specialist, appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show and told Oprah’s viewers they can lose 10 lbs. in 6 weeks drinking green tea instead of coffee

not to mention herbal tea has a wide range of health benefits - i.e women drinking 4-6 cups a day have 46% less chance of getting ovarian cancer, it’s an anti-aging substance - notice how women in asia have beautiful skin and look years younger?

green tea burns up calories and stimulates your metabolism, provided of course, you don’t add any sugar or milk or whatever. if you want green tea to work, you need to drink 4-6 cups a day and you should see results not only in your weight, but your overall body. green tea is a natural relaxer and it also helps clear your skin!

i personally drink at least 6 cups a day, because of the health benefits each different kind (green, black, oolong) has, i like to drink different types each day. black tea has more caffiene so it’s better to drink early in the day to start your metabolism. if you have a low solid intake and are drinking lots of tea, you should notice significant improvement within a few weeks - but you have to make sure you drink 6 cups a day!!! if you skip, it’s no good. herbal tea is a natural laxative so it is good if your only taking a smaller amount of solids.

personally for me l used to weigh 46 kilos (l’m 5″1) and after about 3 months of 6 cups a day, i now only weigh 39 kilos. also, green tea fills you up so you don’t feel as hungry.

good luck, i hope this helps!!!

Oolong tea is also known as Wulong tea. Oolong tea has become popular in Taiwan, Japan, and China. Oolong tea, green tea and black tea are three distinctively famous teas around the world. They are derived from similar plant specie; however, they can be distinguished by their own processing techniques. While Green Tea is unfermented and Black Tea is 100% fermented, Oolong tea is considered semi-fermented, with a rate of 20% to 50%. In Taiwan, Oolong tea is also named as Formosa Oolong tea. Formosa oolong teas are divided into two subtypes that are Formosa Oolong teas and Formosa Pouchong Oolong teas. The Formosa Oolong teas, like Chinese oolong teas, are fermented until about 30% of the tea leaves turned brown. Formosa Pouchong oolong teas are closer to green tea. The leaves are fermented until about 15% turned red, leaving 85% green.

To make Formosa oolong and Pouchong teas, the leaves are plucked early in the day and then withered in the sun. Then the leaves are bruised lightly to cause the fermentation process to begin. Chinese oolong teas typically wither in sheds while Formosa oolong teas are withered and dried in the sun. Tea farmers have to be carefully watching the tea during the fermentation process, often shaking or tumbling the leaves regularly, until the leaves have fermented for a certain period of time and have reached the appropriate proportion of green and red leaves. It ends the fermentation process at precisely the right time. Formosa oolong teas are graded differently than other oolong teas. The government of Taiwan imposed a standard grading system for its teas that makes if easy to ensure that you’re receiving a high quality tea (Stout).
