antioxidant benefits
???????? asked:

Because adding milk negates the antioxidant effects of the tea. Is sugar ok?

Sure, sugar turns to carbs that give u energy, but if u don’t use those energy carbs, they’ll turn to fat.

Here is something my mom used to do and I loved it. She would squeeze oranges into it. Sugar is fine but I wouldn’t use alot of it. If you can, I would use Splenda. Thats pretty good and better for you. I hope this helps.

Try an artificial sweetener or maybe some honey, I’m pretty sure honey is better for you than sugar.

When I drink tea I put in a ‘sacrine’ (I think thats how you spell it) and it tastes the exact same as sugar and its only 1 calorie! :)

You can very quickly get used to tea without milk and any sweeteners. You should also try some herbal or fruit teas they can make a refreshing change – nettle is one of the more unusual ones I’ve tried!

If your looking for health benefits from drinking tea, get away from the black tea & try a cup of green tea. Green tea is better for you & is enjoyed without milk or sweeteners (I like mine with a little lemon juice). The king of healthful tea is called rooibos tea. It is from South Africa & is sometimes called red bush tea. It is really good with milk & honey & the health benefits are superior. Rooibos also has almost no harmful acid like black tea & is caffeine free so you can leave it to steep as long as you want.

Very interesting but why forced to add anything to tea. China teas have different concept, in that tea that needs added ingredients is usually super low grade level, mostly only good for export!! Seriously. The good tea is kept here and only traded by experts. You can find some in your country home but it is hard to trust. I can make 2 recomendations from my friends shop. He shipped from Beijing directly but best you can speak to them yourselfs and learn so much.
    1) one of my favorite: Bai Hao Yin Zhen (white tea!)
    2) Xi Hu Long Jing green tea, soo popular, wonderful tea
To taste these doesnt need much good practice, but it can be so different so you must experiment! The point is, such good teas are delicious alone. If you dont’ understand how this can be possible then its time for you to try them. Its a shame to see our tea culture misinterpreted.

Also I just see people discuss to change from black tea to green or black to wulong or so many other. This is not really correct, and it is not so simple. Many kinds of teas exist, green, white, hei (pu’er), black (red), yellow and wulong (knowns as black dragon or evne blue tea!)
