Tea?

antioxidant benefits
Courtney asked:

Is there any other food that has similar health benefits as tea such as antioxidants? Tea tastes nasty to me and when I take a few sips I get that tingly feeling in my cheeks like I’m about to be sick. I want something healthy that gets all the bad stuff out of your body.

I don’t know it there are any other foods, but I do know that if you are brewing your own tea at home, try adding 1/8 teaspoon of baking soda (not baking powder.) This takes the bitter, nasty taste right out of it.

There are tons of foods and supplements that contain antioxidants.
Vitamin C for example is a great antioxidant.

Also, foods such as citrus fruits, onions, broccoli, apples and garlic are great sources of antioxidants.

Anti-oxidants can be found in most all fruits and vegetables but those with high content are found in things like pomegranates, craneberries, guavas, grapefruits, grapes. Pine bark has one of the highest anti-oxidants and can be found in pharmacies or health-food stores in extracts at a hefty price.

There are so many foods containing antioxidants. Some antioxidant capsules are also available in the pharmacies.
But if you want to enjoy your tea with its antioxidant benefit you have to change the process of tea preparation.

Boil water 1st and add sugar as per your taste.
squeeze 1/4th lemon in your cup.
Switch off the flame and add 1 tea spoon tea leaves.
set aside for 2 minute and filter it.

It really taste grate and full of antioxidents.

U got to learn to like tea taste. ya, tea is gr8 antioxident! make it as Dr. Rekha says, but no need to boil sugar. Add it after u have strained the tea. Boiling the sugar increases its caloric value. Happy tea time:)
